Inviting, managing, and understanding the Co-Parent feature for shared child accounts.
What is the Co-Parent feature?
The Co-Parent feature allows a primary parent to securely share access to a child’s account with another parent or guardian. Each parent maintains their own Modak account, finances, and payment methods, while both can help manage the child’s financial journey.

Only the Primary Parent of a child can invite a co-parent. The Primary Parent must have an active premium subscription to use this feature.

No. Parents never share bank accounts, balances, funding sources, or debit cards. The co-parent can only access information and features related to the shared child.

A co-parent can:
- Add money to the child’s Spending account
- Add money to Savings Goals
- Freeze or unfreeze the child’s card
- Create, approve, and pay chores
- View the child’s balances, transactions, and card information
Can a co-parent access my other children?
No. Co-parent access is limited only to the child included in the invitation. Other children on your account remain private.

To invite a co-parent, the Primary Parent must initiate the invitation from their Modak app.
- Go to Family Details.
- If you do not have an active Premium subscription, tap Get Co-Parenting with Premium Subscription and complete your subscription purchase.
- Once your Premium subscription is active, you’ll be prompted to enter the co-parent’s phone number and send the invitation.
If the invited co-parent already has a Modak account, they must use the same phone number associated with their existing account to accept the invitation. If they are new to Modak, they will be guided through the sign-up process after opening the invitation link.

At this time, each child can have one active co-parent. However, a co-parent can have access to multiple children if invited by their respective Primary Parents.

Yes. The Primary Parent can remove a co-parent at any time. Once removed, the co-parent immediately loses access to the child’s information, card controls, funding, and chores.

No. The Co-Parent feature is not a joint bank account. It simply allows two parents or guardians to collaborate in managing a child’s financial experience while keeping their personal finances completely separate.
